Let's Get Organized

I've been going through my photo files and trying to organizing them. Hopefully when I finish, I'll be glad I decided to get organized. Until then, I just want to scream!

I stumbled across this photo which I absolutely love!
There is no specific reason I love it, but every time I see it I smile.

I am simply in awe of anyone who can capture some of life's the most amazing moments with a click of the camera. I have ALWAYS been the "photographer" in the family/group and have a tendency to take an insane amount of photos (with absolutely NO talent). My very sweet hubby decided to surprise me with a new camera (which by the way, I have NO idea how to use), in hopes that I can capture some of the same moments that I "ohhhh" and "awwww" over.

I've started to do some research and I'm looking for advice/guidance for simple tips to help me make the most of my gift!

I love my hubby SO very much and I am grateful that he thought to surprise me. In his eyes I am capable of accomplishing anything I put my mind to. I can't let him down! ;-)

This Little Light of Mine

We finished another project!
I was wanting a chandelier to hang in the downstairs bathroom and this one was found at a GARAGE SALE! It was definitely in need of a makeover.

First Step: PRIMER

Second Step: BLACK PAINT

(I LOVED the idea of a black chandelier with crystals)

AND... the finished project!

I had the crystals at home from a previous project and I think they worked just perfectly!

Now... if you could've seen the before photo of this bathroom, you would be in complete amazement of the transformation. It was just HIDEOUS!

Hoppy Easter!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter and took time to reflect on the true meaning of this very special holiday. I know we did...
Below are just a few photos from our Easter weekend.
Tidbit dying eggs... being the creative family that we are, we absolutely LOVE dying eggs! My little man is a perfectionist and is not please until the eggs are "Just Right"!

Mini Key Lime Cheesecake Easter Baskets... Yummy!!

Decorating cookies would not be the same without personalizing at least one. If it has your initial, no one else can eat it. Right?!

A quick family shot

I'm not quite sure how to post more than 4 photos at a time without going through Photobucket... but will keep trying until I figure it out!

A MASTER Makeover

We decided to FINALLY makeover our Master Bedroom.
Many people have mentioned that they'd love to makeover a room in the house, but don't have enough money to do much. SO... I have been on a mission to see how much we could accomplish with a small $500 budget. The photos below show how much we accomplished without going over budget... BE INSPIRED! ;-)
BEFORE:
(I don't think you should ever have white walls in your home.)

AFTER:

(It's amazing how warm a room can feel after adding a little color to the walls.)

The hubs and I designed and made the headboard. The PERFECT focal point for $50!!

We wanted the bedroom to be completely different than any other room in the house (like a get-a-way) and I believe we accomplished that!

Be inspired... it IS possible to have an amazing transformation with a small budget! We plan on purchasing a rug and I will be painting some art for the walls, but wanted to share photos of the room with $500 worth of change!
**Side note: Maybe that is what I should blog about... Making something out of nothing, using hardwork, patience and a small budget. Just a thought**

My Sisters

I am part of the most amazing group of women and I am extremely lucky to be able to call each of them my Sister!

Beta Sigma Phi is a non-profit organization that was created in 1931 during The Great Depression. There was a need for an organization that could bring women together and expose them to a social, cultural and educational climate that was not available in those difficult times.

Beta Sigma Phi provides opportunities to contribute to your community, develop lifelong friendships, and polish leadership skills. Members raise more than $3 million for local charities and donate over 200,0000 volunteer hours in an average year. Each chapter determines its own service projects and participation is always voluntary.

Below is a picture of the Sisters of Beta Kappa Nu!

Breakfast at Tiffany's

I am a member of the women's charitable organization, Beta Sigma Phi. This organazation has been around for over 75 years and is an amazing diverse group of women from all over the world. I have been blessed to have 14 wonderful sisters who are so near and dear to my heart.
Each year we have a Sweetheart Ball honoring a "Sweetheart" chosen from each chapter in our City Council (9 total chapters) and spend the evening dancing, laughing and having so much FUN! (Basically it is a prom for adults.)
My chapter was in charge of planning the event this year and decided on the theme "Red Carpet Gala". We are having everything from the red carpet, Hollywood signs and even some paparrazzi!
We have a table decorating contest and every chapter is responsible for decorating their own. They were given a movie as their theme. We have 2 "Tiffany's" in our group, so our movie is "Breakfast at Tiffany's". I am responsible for our decorations and think the centerpieces turned out so cute!
I am excited about tomorrow and can't wait to share some photos from the "Red Carpet"!

Hanging with the Boys!

Well... My 2 favorite boys decided to take me to Kemah Sunday evening for dinner. We had not be to the boardwalk since the devastating Hurricane Ike. The rebuiliding has come a LOOOONG way!
Here are just a few snap shots before we left the house.
Me & My Tidbit

Me & My Hubby

Tid and his colorful SOUR candy he made just for him!

Quick photo before leaving... We had so much fun just walking around and spending time together (my absolute favorite thing to do!)

Santa's Wonderland

We visited Santa's Wonderland 5 years ago with friends of our and it has now become a tradition. Everyone thinks we are out of minds that we drive more than 2 hours to see the Christmas lights, but we love every second of it!
Here are a few photos that we took this year... The quality is extremely poor, but you get the idea.
Waiting in the LONG line to enter Santa's Wonderland. We always drive through in the bed of the truck. This year was EXTRA cold!

Me & My Little Man LOVING the lights!

A light display that has an Aggie football player running for the touchdown, but is tackled by a Longhorn before getting to the endzone. Okay... that's what we wanted to happen! :-)

The Fam infront of a HUGE Texas flag. Everything really is BIGGER in Texas!

I think everyone should take their kiddos to Santa's Wonderland at least once. There is a live band singing Christmas music, homemade Hot Cocoa and Kettle Corn, Petting Zoo, Numerous Shops with unique gift ideas and of course it would not be complete without Santa.
So Much Fun!

Tiffany & Co.

I have FINALLY added pictures! Don't get too excited... it's only a few, but now you will be able to put a face with a name. Yeah for me!

Abel is my AMAZING hubby... he far exceeds an expectation that I ever had of my perfect partner.

Ashton Grant is my sweet little angel. He is 6 year old and FULL of life!

Our pets: We have 2 dogs - Braxton Tank and Jack. Jack was a homeless dog, but after feeding and caring for him for almost 2 years, Ashton reminds me that he is no longer homeless.

3 Fish - Flip, Flop and Skully

I am blessed day after day in my life and I will never know what I did to deserve the blessings God has given me. God is GOOD!

That's us in a nutshell... The Jonses! Stay tuned... Hopefully MUCH more to come.
