School's Out For Summer!

I’m so proud of my Lil Man… He finished his 3rd grade year on top and I couldn’t be anymore proud of him!!

He was Gold Commended on his TAKS tests, which is a VERY big deal. He has come a long way this year and he makes me more proud every single day.

Looking forward to what 4th grade has in store…

9 Things I LoVe About YOU!

Nine years old… How in the world did we get to nine so quickly? How is it even possible that you are nine years old? It just doesn’t seem possible that you are half way to 18 years old. I have spent the evening taking a walk down memory lane looking at a ton of old pictures of you. I want to cry for how much I miss the "little you", and yet I am so excited to be a part of the "bigger you".

Life with you is never dull, so I am going to try my hardest to pick some of the Top Nine about the past 12 months.

Your Top Nine:

9. For the first time (that I know of) you were writing "I love _____ " on your notebook. Lord help me, I am quite certain it won't be the last.

8. You've decided that you wanted to be Matt Lauer when you grow up. However, after watching you discuss the daily happenings of the world, it has become quite clear to me that you are more likely to become Joel McHale when you grow up…. This makes me so happy!

7. Your artistic ability grows daily! I am confident that if you do not become the next Matt Lauer (Joel McHale), then you are destined to become the next Picasso. It’s a good thing I saved every drawing you’ve done!

6. You scored your first Homerun and two triples in the same game! I secretly love the way you never listen to your coaches, because you know exactly what you need to do. (Don’t tell Dad that I said this!)

5. You went to your very first WWE event with Dad. He said he loved watching you clap and throw your arms in the air, hooting & hollering, and taking in every minute of the excitement!

4. You really wanted a guitar and got a little bummed when Josh bought himself one. Josh had been saving money for a while and decided to buy a guitar. Dad and I mentioned that if you would save your money, we would pay for half. You simply responded, “I want to save my money and give it to the church.” … We could not have been anymore proud than we were at that moment… There are no words.

3. Your love of Roller Coasters continues to grow; therefore, my fear of Roller Coasters continues to grow!

2. Your wittiness and quick comebacks keep us in stitches. You are one funny kid and definitely the class clown. I anticipate plenty of calls from your schools as the years go on. I will do my best to not respond with “What do you expect with a dad like his?” … What have we got ourselves into?!

1. From the day you were born, you have never ceased to amaze us. The doctors told us that you would never crawl and you did… early! We were told that you would never walk and you did… early! We were told you could not play sports and that has not stopped you. You play ball and you rock it! No matter the obstacles in your life or the hurdles placed in front of you, you always soar past them and come out shining!

Whew!! What a year! Your dad and I are super proud of you and very honored that out of all the parents in the world, we got picked to love you. I am so excited for all you will see and experience in the coming year. I cannot wait for all the adventures we have waiting for us this year!

Here are a VERY few of my favorite pics...

I love you so much I don't think my heart can hold it all.

*Mom

Cloudy with a Chance of Cheesballs

I mean... Meatballs!! ;-)

I took these sweet boys to see Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs today in 3-D and they absolutely LOVED it!!

What kiddo wouldn't enjoy a movie where cheeseburgers fall from the sky?! If you have younger kiddos, I definitely recommend taking them to see this movie. There was a ton of laughs and lots of smiles!!

My nephew Koda & Ashton

I just LOVE this cheeseball!!
BTW - I thing EVERY movie should be 3-D... SO FUN!!

SPC - Day 19

I am still keeping up with the Self Portrait Challenge, but it's much harder than I thought! Lately, I have been taking photos of things I do throughout the day and not just photos of my face... Believe me, I can't stand looking at my face over & over & over again!!
SO... here is a photo of one of my daily routines... Book Time with Tidbit. We absolutely LOVE this time! I soak up every second of my one-on-one time with my Little Man, because in a blink of an eye he will be 16 and I know that Book Time will turn into Mom-can-I-borrow-some-money-so-I-can-go-to-the-movies-with-my-friends Time.

2nd Grade... Here I Come!

My baby boy started 2 grade today!!

He has been so worried about going back to school and getting the "mean" teacher. I am not sure what makes a teacher "mean", I just know it has been really bothering him. Last night, we had Supply Drop-Off and Meet the Teacher and he was so relieved to find out that his teacher was the "nice" one! HaHa! As we were leaving, he said "I feel MUCH better now!"

Below are a few photos of Ashton on the First Day of School.

8 is GREAT!

My baby boy turned 8 years old yesterday & I cannot believe it!! I feel like yesterday was his first birthday and then we turn around and he is 8 years old. *Tear*

He will be starting 2nd grade tomorrow and is excited about a new year.

Below are very few (because that is all the program will let me upload) photos from his birthday weekend... Yes, we celebrated all weekend & he LOVED it!!

Ashton's #8 drawing
This kiddo could draw 24 hours a day... we have SO many drawing and if one is missing, he knows! I love that he is excited about art and being creative!

Josh (my brother), Koda (my nephew) & Ashton getting ready to watch "boy movies"!!

Lil Man smiling for pictures and getting ready to blow out his candles. Little did he know, they were trick candles and re-lit about 7 times! Thank goodness he doesn't have asthma!! HaHa!

My sweet Lil Man on his 8th birthday
He was getting ready to head out with Aunt Steph, Bry & Koda to his next surprise. The race track! He absolutely loved everything about his birthday weekend!

I love this sweet boy!! Happy Birthday Ashton Grant!

My Baseball Boy

Tigers 2009

Yesterday was my Little Man's Team Party at Main Event and the kids had a BLAST!!!

After a very exciting season, the Tigers came in 3rd place. There were a few players recognized and Tidbit won the medal for Most Runs Scored this Season!!!

Way to Go Tidbit!!

(School has ended, so Tidbit wanted a haircut "Just like Dad's")

America's Favorite Past Time... and Ours Too!

During the Fall and Spring Seasons, we spend practically every night of the week at a ball game or practice. The busy schedule definitely makes life crazy, but we wouldn't have it any other way!!!
A few photos of my little man up to bat.
(I wish I could put them side by side in this order, but I have to figure out how to do that first.)

My Catcher! Apparently when you're a big time baseball player, it is "un-cool" to smile for the camera. Ha!

Let's Get Organized

I've been going through my photo files and trying to organizing them. Hopefully when I finish, I'll be glad I decided to get organized. Until then, I just want to scream!

I stumbled across this photo which I absolutely love!
There is no specific reason I love it, but every time I see it I smile.

I am simply in awe of anyone who can capture some of life's the most amazing moments with a click of the camera. I have ALWAYS been the "photographer" in the family/group and have a tendency to take an insane amount of photos (with absolutely NO talent). My very sweet hubby decided to surprise me with a new camera (which by the way, I have NO idea how to use), in hopes that I can capture some of the same moments that I "ohhhh" and "awwww" over.

I've started to do some research and I'm looking for advice/guidance for simple tips to help me make the most of my gift!

I love my hubby SO very much and I am grateful that he thought to surprise me. In his eyes I am capable of accomplishing anything I put my mind to. I can't let him down! ;-)

Hanging with the Boys!

Well... My 2 favorite boys decided to take me to Kemah Sunday evening for dinner. We had not be to the boardwalk since the devastating Hurricane Ike. The rebuiliding has come a LOOOONG way!
Here are just a few snap shots before we left the house.

Well.... I am obviously not very good at this blogging thing, but I am going to give it another shot. Third times a charm right?!

Here are a few quick snapshots that were taken right before the Christmas holidays.
